POOL TRAINING

Pool training sessions are scheduled by the hour and are held at Rhode Island College.

A $50 class fee is due at the time of the training.

training opportunities

  • $25 per session - Weekly sessions are Wednesday, 5:30 pm and Saturday, 11:30 am at Balance Fitness, 16 Douglas Street, Jamestown RI.

    The training is designed to provide intense workouts in preparation for the rigorous physical training at the police academy. The progressive programming includes strength, conditioning, injury prevention and mobility training and is also available online for $20 per month.

  • Jujitsu/Wrestling - $25.00 drop in per class or $150 per month

    Weekly sessions:

    Jujutsu -Tuesday 7 pm, Thursday 7 pm and Sunday 11 am

    Wrestling- Wednesday 4:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am

    The training is crucial to passing the defensive tactics test out in the academy. Every candidate that has trained with F2S has successfully passed the test out in the academy, including a candidate that was dismissed from the academy for previously failing the test out. Whether training with F2S or someone else, this is a must and is highly recommended months in advance of the academy.

  • If you have an interest in pool training to better prepare yourself for police, fire, or military academies, we offer individual and group pool training. Pool Training consists of:

    - Breathing techniques

    - Stroke techniques

    - Treading water for long periods of time

    - Passive & active rescue

    - Deep water descending & ascending familiarization

    Pool Training- 2 hours - $60 per person- Kent County YMCA, Warwick RI. F2S administers the same testing required at the RIMPTA and has successfully trained multiple candidates including several who had previously failed the swim test.

  • 12-hour course- meets on 4 consecutive Tuesday nights from 6 pm-9 pm at Elite Indoor Gun Range in South Kingstown. The cost is $600.00 per candidate. Candidates must supply their own ammunition and can rent a firearm for $10 per session. RI Law requires a blue card ( available for free after taking a written test) to purchase ammunition. F2S supplies the range, targets, instructors, and eye/ear protection. The course is taught by a retired FBI agent and former Hostage Rescue Team operator and active Bristol Police Department Sergeant and firearms instructor. F2S has successfully trained numerous candidates prior to the academy including 2 candidates that previously failed firearms during the academy and were dismissed. Those two candidates are now police officers.

  • F2S offers 4, 8, 12-week online training programs to assist with passing the PAT. The cost of the trainings is $40, $60, $80 respectively. Visit www.fit2serveri.com for more details.

  • Provides oral interview preparation. Candidates receive in-depth training and first-hand knowledge of the interview process, practice techniques, research, and physical appearance/demeanor tips, handouts, and examples of questions/scenarios. The class takes place at 12:30 on Saturdays after training. The next date will be announced on social media.
