To participate in the Pre-Enrollment Physical Fitness Test, candidates must provide the following items upon arrival at the test site.

To Participate in the Online Written Exam from home, you will need (1) a computer or laptop with a webcam, (2) a mobile phone with a front-facing camera, and (3) your government-issued photo I.D. You are also permitted to have pencils and scratch paper during the exam. Prior to logging on to take the exam, please make sure that you download and install Weblock which we will email you instructions on how to download Weblock as we approach the test date.

  • Prior to taking the test candidates can purchase a Study Guide at https://www.publicsafetycompass.com/product/entry-level-police-online-study-guide/

  • Entry-level police exams are accepted by most departments in Rhode Island.

  • IPMA recommends a passing score of 70, each police department reserves the right to change the passing score

  • A passing score is valid for a two-year period (passing scores are determined by the individual departments).

  • Candidates can retest to pass or improve their scores.

  • Please contact Fit2Serve if a financial hardship exists. No candidate will be precluded from taking the test.
